What a magnificent post. All three of these poems are profoundly moving, and heartbreakingly filled with bitter, and also inspiring, truth. There is truly a level of courage and commitment that transcends the bitter, ugly realities of this transient life that we live. Breathtaking, powerful post!

Beautiful! Your poem makes me realize that Dr Hussam Abu Safiya reminds me of Jesus, the Palestinian who stood up to Empire, was stripped, beaten and executed “who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”

Dr Hussam Abu Safiya is a hero and a saint

Thanks for writing this recognition of Dr Hussam Abu Sufiya arrested for treating patients that the IDF condemned to being Palestinian. “But no one can take away that steadfast stride into the beastly” heart of the European enlightenment in all its apartheid and vassal complicit horror.

“Your majesty and beauty are proofs of God’s favours upon your soul

You are majestic and beautiful, He too is majestic and beautiful.”

Thank you for this deeply moving poem. As Leon says: "There is truly a level of courage and commitment that transcends the bitter, ugly realities of this transient life that we live." Majesty and beauty forever together in this healer of body and soul.

Is like reading a book from the dark ages.

As some one wrote, those Palestinians which will survive this onslaught, will be forever remembered as the Palestinian Holocaust survivors.

Blessing to the doctor and to all of his colleagues putting their lives on the line to save others.

So far, since October the seventh, over 1000 health workers have been murdered by the israeli aggression in Gaza alone, such monstrous crime will not go answered.

The world is awaking from the nightmare in which it was brought by the viciousness of the few and reacting.

The effects of Boycott divest and sanctions are now felt also by those countries which continues to defend the supremacists’s crimes, as people are no longer buying their products and things are changing worldwide.

The barbarity and insanity of this now Holocaust unleashed on the people made prisoners in their own land must stop.

In solidarity for a free, just, and prosperous Palestine.

I don't quite know what to say anymore, my friend, especially anything of new substance... surely God knows your pain like none other. If it may add a bit of comfort for you to hear just in case this helps, I often try to remember and pray for you and your brethren before my meals, knowing that however hungry and depressed I am, surely you resilient, beautiful people of Palestina have endured far worse. And however much sympathy I can express from my heart, the wonderful LORD God loves all of you yet infinitely more.

How I haven't read your postings enough these days to shed much-needed tears of sorrow...

Your poem enhances Dr Hussam Abu Safiya’s dignified resolve. He has a peaceful expression always, never hostile, or fearful, and he is so easy to like and respect. Lovely sentiments. We have never met him but love him. And so do you. Blessing this lovely man through your beautiful words, is received by your readers ai’m sure, with tears welling up in their eyes.
