Yes, Al Jazeera is definitely much better than all of the West-based MSM. I don't think anyone else has the courage to do the series of undercover investigations they did on the Israeli lobby. (I will be writing on it soon.) Indeed, the examples of Lamont Hill and Chris Hedges, among others, are a clear indication that the MSM can't take any opinions that differ from the established orthodoxies.
