Yes I do. And I remember UDHR December 10 Paris 1948. And I remember Uniting for Peace September 2024. Full Israeli withdrawal including all troops and settlers from West Bank Gaza and East Jerusalem no later than September 2025. It should be no later than this Tuesday.

Yes, I remember all that. And I will never forget. And I will never ever be the same again. I lost all faith in humanity. I just want to get out of here

This terrible chronicle reads like blows to the gut. Neither our memories nor our recoiling bodies will ever, can never, forget. Yet it is our ever deepening love and respect for the resilience, courage, strength and the unbearable grief of the Palestinians/Gazans over all these months that is the greater container that weaves each of these horrific heart breaking memories into the fabric of our souls and our hearts forever filled with that profound love and respect. Forgetting is no longer possible.

To forget is to forsake those who have been murdered, maimed, displaced, tortured, and raped for the sins of the almighty West!

I remember the 70’s in the Middle East…I was living there.

Israel and America’s treatment of Palestine is beyond reprehensible.

You mention humanity’s survival…

I will never forget witnessing Carter as the only US president who even attempted to balance political expedience with humanity by bringing Arafat, Sadat and Begin to Camp David to sign a tolerance treaty.

I also remember feeling encouraged by Rabin, and not at all surprised by his tragic assassination.

It’s not my intent at all to false equivocate. But to instead remind us what signals of humanity to look for from an evil empire.

Salam

Thank you for this poem. I have lost all faith in humanity. How can people not wake up and see the horrors going on in Palestine? Forgetting this is no longer possible. That opening line: "You must never forget, for this is a war on your memory too..." will stay with me forever.

Necessary litany of our horrors to prevent memory erasure by the journalists who “report” occupation fictions and the Epstein academics clapping for deportations. Robert Wood’s security council veto in November 2023 and Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s in February and May of 2024 also stand out as makers of expanding killing fields along with the twins whose birth and death certificates had to printed the same day, the ambassador’s niece blown onto a wall, the zip tied tortured men and babies in the mass grave at another destroyed hospital…

It reminds us how cruel, psychopathic and heartless the perpetrators are, but also the US and other Western powers enabling it. Then, of course, the huge hypocrisy that the same Western powers boycotted and shamed the apartheid regime, whose crimes. terrible as they were, do not come remotely close to these documented horrors. So, yes, let's remember and let's not forget.
