Palestine notes: How Joe Biden is enabling the genocide in Gaza
A quick chat designed to tell you something you need to know about the politics surrounding Palestine.
Palestine notes is inspired by the Pass notes in the British imperialist propaganda rag, also known as the Guardian.
I like the format of the Pass notes and feel that it can be a good vehicle to inform the uninitiated about the various aspects of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the politics surrounding Palestine, and the Palestinian fight for freedom from the settler colonial apartheid colony of Israel.
This is the first story in Palestine notes.
Name: Joe “I am a Zionist” Biden, better known as Genocide Joe.
Age: 81.
Appearance: A suited mummy.
That’s the US President, isn’t it? Yes, that’s him.
Wait, is he really Genocide Joe? He totally is. Haven’t you been following the events since October 7 in Palestine? The Israelis are carrying out a genocide in Gaza, having killed nearly 20,000 innocent civilians — over half of them women and children — while Genocide Joe has been steadfast in his refusal to call for a ceasefire.
Besides, he set the narrative for the Israeli crimes in Gaza by actively lying about “beheaded Israeli babies” despite there being no proof whatsoever of Hamas killing children in Israel.
Can he stop the genocide? He absolutely can. In 2021, when Netanyahu was carrying out his periodic massacre of Gazans, all it took was a phone call from Genocide Joe to make him stop. “Hey, man, we are out of runway here, Genocide Joe told Netanyahu over a phone call, adding, “It’s over.” And sure enough, two days later, the massacre of Gazans was over.
Is it that easy? It really is that easy. After all, the genocidal Israelis can’t carry out their genocide of the innocents without American funds and weapons. The United States has sent tens of thousands of weapons to Israel since 1950. According to an Axios report: “The U.S. has provided Israel with at least sixteen types of weapons in 2023, including missiles and aircraft, though the exact numbers and types of weapons have not been made public.”
Since October 7, the US has been shipping out military assistance, as National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby put it, “on a near-daily basis.”
What were you saying about financial funds? About the financial funds. The Israeli genocide of the Palestinians wouldn’t be possible without American money. According to a Truthout report: “Israel is the single largest recipient of US foreign aid since World War II. Since the Nakba — which also involved US support — the US has provided Israel $260 billion in economic and military funding. In 2022, the US provided Israel with $3.2 billion in aid, and Congress and President Joe Biden have backed sending an additional $14.3 billion to Israel this year on top of the over $3 billion officials have already committed for 2023.”
As you can see, American tax dollars are funding a literal genocide of innocents in Gaza. A genocide that is being live-streamed across the world without Biden so much as calling for a ceasefire. In fact, there is an effective gag on US officials using the word “ceasefire.”
According to a Huffington Post report from last month: “State Department staff wrote that high-level officials do not want press materials to include three specific phrases: ‘de-escalation/ceasefire,’ ‘end to violence/bloodshed’ and ‘restoring calm.’”
That’s grotesque. I will tell you something even more grotesque. According to a Politico report: “There was some concern in the administration about an unintended consequence of the pause [in the Israeli genocide]: that it would allow journalists broader access to Gaza and the opportunity to further illuminate the devastation there and turn public opinion on Israel.”
This report came prior to the 7-day pause that the Israelis brought to an end last Friday. The pause did reveal egregious and irrefutable proof of Israeli war crimes. For example, try to stomach this headline: “Abandoned babies found decomposing in Gaza hospital weeks after it was evacuated.”
Wow! I am stunned. Can we do something about it? Yes, absolutely. Protests are being organised across all major cities in the United States and the world. Join them. Make your voice heard. Don’t let them cower you into silence while they massacre thousands in your name, using your hard-earned money.
Tell them you don’t consent to this Zionist extermination campaign in Gaza.
Call your representatives and tell them they can’t have your vote unless they call for a permanent ceasefire. The US Presidential election is around the corner. Join the campaign to “Abandon Biden” because Genocide Joe can’t have a second term while actively aiding and abetting a genocide.
Do say: “Abandon Biden.”
Don’t say: “But do you condemn Hamas?”
